THIS IS MY CHURCH ST. JOHNS LUTHERAN CHURCH : It has done so much for me that i do not know were to start. my contributions have been minimaul but my expectations on giving are high ! ! ! Rev Dan has meet with me and Shanin a couple of times and i can not thank him enough for taking time out of his busy schedule to console us both and pray for peace as well as stopping the nasty habit of smoking. The first thing pastor Dan i prayed for was to keep me from getting angree and it seems to work. It is not a coincidence prayer really worked for me this time ! ! !
Lora Rev Dan assistant was a friend the moment we meet ! ! ! I feel i can call upon her anytime for any reason and she will extend a helping hand. Everyone in the church has been so friendly i have felt at home there every time i go and am really glad i have them so close to me ! ! !
I am going to a Group Bible study on mondays which is as much a social event than a study program. I am differant as i usually am in groups but they accept me and respect my concerns and thought about religion. I really appreciate my time with the group run by Pastor Jim and Dave.
I am looking for a way to volinteer with the church and i may have found something today helping with the grounds work is right up my allie. I am looking forward to a long and lasting relationship with Jesus here at St John's ! ! ! ! ! !

This photo was taken on thier vaction in California were they spent time with Family in a 7 bed room condo. She is as sweet as she looks and one of my favorite advizors. She nows her business. This one of the few times they traveled for pleasure usually Duane drives her all over the country going to actions and at least once a year they go to France to replentish thier supply of products. Duane is the Web Master of an award winning Web sit and find time to take care of himself out side of working full time for Hewlett Packard which used to be E.D.S. He runs 26 miles once in a while and bikes 100 miles tooooooo ! ! ! I am lucky i can walk a mile for a camel ! ? ! ? ! ?

I got involved with homebownd after a hospital visit in august. i thaught they would monitor my vitals provide some level
of support metally and make sure my legs are ok ? ? ? Turns out that they provide their services through medicare paid
in full for 8 weeks after a hosptal visit which i have gotten extened another 8 weeks for a number of reasons. this care is
is quality care to its utmost. it turns out that the two nurses i have had are not just friends but life long members of the internet families nown as the homeboundfamily and they did not even have to apply it is a 6 star award give out to those
that go beyond personal care ! ! ! speeking of personal care the company foots the bill for transpertation to and from doctor appointment. which is invaluable to me on-a-conna i have doctors in elgin $75 value & hines hospital &25 value which i see several times a month. when i lose this service it will cost me hundreds of dollars just to get to the doctor. most importantly
it is not like taking a cab they treat you with the utmost respect & get to know you as a friend & they are better than a limo
it is service i do not really feel qualified for but it is something i can not do without for now.
they all tell me to take care of myself but i could not do that without thier help ! ! !

Cris my nurse came to visit me yesterday. The last day before X-Mass & we had a greate visit. One good piece of advice she gave me is to start saving money and I agreed. I need an emergancy fund ! ! ! http://www.va.gov Hines is just one of many facilities serviceing the many vets from all of the military branches. I happened to be an hour and half hour late on this rainy day but i was rushed through the system in less than a half hour with good news. My legs are not infected it is poor curculation caused by diabietes and smoking. The diabietes is under control and we are working on the smoking. But anyway the Doctors are fabulouse with a very heavy work load. Every day for them is fillied with hundreds of patients from all over the state.
Because of the heavy patient load you can expect a long wait when visiting the emergancy room.
The chaple has multipule services for multipule religions through out the day for staff and patients alike ! ! !
THIS FACILITY HANDLES SOME 1300 PATIENTS WITH ONLY 3 DOCTORS ON STAFF. THEY NEED SOME RELEIF !
MyKey has been going to the Elgin Clinic for over 10 years. It took a year or two for me to be accepted which made my trips to the Doctor only 15 minutes from Bartlett. I was over joyed to have such quality care so close to home. During the ten years I was homeless for two of those years and they still managed to take care of me even though i missed multiple appointments and distirbed the peace and quite of the clinic. Karen insists on calling me Mr. Matthes and I appreciate the respect which I have always gotten from everyone at the clinic no matter what the what the situation. To make a long story short I am going to transferr to Hines once Home Bound no longer supports my transpotation needs because it is now a 45 miniute ride to the clinic rather than 20 minutes to Hines. I will sincerely miss the personal care I got from all the nurses, doctor raju and especially Karen who is the back bone of a very busy organization that needs more doctors and longer hours of operation which goes for Hines tooooo !!!!!!!!!
A couple of things I like about the clinic rather than Hines is you have no problem parking with the long walk to your appointment. there is never a crouped waiting room of patients and you usually do not have long to wait, they have an abundance of information in the form of fliers and they have a no smoking sensation offerred as well as a social worker which i really appreciated. Mike was in charge of both services and was a very interesting person. I hope we can keep in touch in the future in that he is going to Auroura full time. One thing that was nice is that while you were waiting for an appointment I could step out for a cigarette right out front not like Hines were you have to wlak to designated areas.
bottom line I prefferr the clinic but transportation is the issue as well as availability of appointments and lack of communications with the doctor ! ! !
I am not sure what is all in this biuld except I go to the ELMURST CLINIC here and my DR. JOE is fabuliouse along with the nurses and receptionist. The are totally computerized for check in for appointments and the biulding is emaculate.
Just look at the grounds work if i was hungry i would make a sald out of all the fine greenery. It is the best grounds work in Lombard by far . My complements to the Heath Centers Gardeners ! ! !
Like Hines you have to watch were you smoke but who cares you really do not want to polute the area anyway ! ! !
I made the initial appiontment with DR. JOE in an effort to get a scooter from THE SCOOTER STORE who by the way is a class act. The showed up at the Dr. Office willing to help anyway they could to get me the scooter. They gave me all kind of marketing material too ! ! ! In the form of pens and pads. Dr. Joe declined my request but it was understandable based on medicare guide lines but it sure would come in handy to get arround town since i am so short of breath.
I may still get a scooter from another sorce if i can come up with some cash or mayme find one for free too ! ! !
Guess when my next appointment is with Dr. Joe ??? It is 01-11-10 ! ! ! Ya 4 ones again ! ! ! ! ! !
THE NORTHERN ILLINOIS FOOD BANK VISITS THE FIRST CHURCH ON MAIN STREET ONCE A MONTH.
It is a truck load of food provided by stores that have over stocked items. The event services at least 150 people each and every month it starts at 3:30pm and runs till 5:30pm but you better get there before 2:00pm to get a good number. It service residents of Lombard and Villa Park and you must have a picture Id. and utility bill with your current address. So it does not support the homeless which is a shame. While waiting in line it turns into a social event with people tring to help people through what are really tuff times. Some times it just good to talk to someone who really cares and there are plenty of people there that do. This event was sponsored by the Villa Park Rotary club and the next one will be sponsored by thre Lombard Juniors . It will be held on Saturday December 19th 2009. Just in time for X-Mas.
PS . tHE FIRST CHURCH ALSO PUTS ON A DINNER EVERY WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT 5:30PM WITH EVERYONE INVITED. MYKEYS FAMILY WILL BE GOING THERE FOR THANKS GIVING RATHER THAN COOK AT HOME AND THEN WE WILL BE GOING TO ST.JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH FOR A 7:00PM MASS.
The is a team of volinteers from all kinds of organizations. A lot of them are high school kids that put things in your basket and help you load up your car. Mykey was lucky enough to get EMILY the little girl with the hat and hooded jacket. She new just what she had to do and was very proffessional about the whole thing. Her favorite Artist is Hana Man Tana of course.
Here is a good shot of one of the volinteer coordinators calling numbers and thats the truck that was loaded with goods of all sorts. All to gether it is a pleasurable day getting to know new people making friends and getting more food than I can use. Thank god and god bless all the volinters, doners and contributers ! ! !
